BUDERSAND also provides a superlative cultural experience. Elke Heidenreich, moderator, author and Germany’s best-known literary critic, was responsible for selecting the approximately 1,200 volumes for our extensive hotel library.
You may choose from novels, stories, mysteries, non-fiction, illustrated books, children’s books and a large selection of literature about the island of Sylt. The literary spectrum ranges from Nobel laureates (Günter Grass, José Saramago, Albert Camus) to leading contemporary best-sellers (Umberto Eco, Bernhard Schlink, Maarten ’t Hart), classics from every era and country imaginable
(Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Hermann Hesse, James Joyce, Jane Austen, Leo Tolstoy), the latest in German literature (Ralf Rothmann, Walter Moers, Martin Walser) and great American writers (John Updike, T. C. Boyle, Gabriel García Márquez).
Many of the books in the library can easily be read in a few days. Should you wish to continue reading a book at home, we would be happy to order a copy for you and have it delivered directly to your place of residence.
